STEM Workshops

Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics

Gliders use cutting edge aerodynamic science to allow them to fly as efficiently as possible. Learning to fly gliders is also a great way to get into engineering and technology, with many possible careers paths including becoming a pilot or aerospace engineer.

In collaboration with local and national organisations, the event will have a STEM Zone offering free activities and information about STEM subjects and careers throughout the day.

The organisations supporting the STEM Zone in 2024 included the National Composite Centre, Siemens Mobility, My Future My Choice, Pennant International, Process Parameters, the Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Defence, and the British Gliding Association.

You can find out more about some of the aviation industry’s STEM initiatives at stem.caa.co.uk.

STEM Zone activities are open to all and free of charge with a valid event ticket.
