What should I wear?
The airfield is a large open space which can often make it feel colder than expected based on the temperature outside your home. We therefore recommend bringing an extra layer of warm clothing, plus a waterproof jacket and sturdy footwear as the event is mostly outdoors. Don’t forget to bring gloves and a hat to stay comfortable during the evening.
Is there disabled parking?
Yes, accessible parking is available on-site for blue badge holders. We kindly ask that you contact us to let us know if you need an accessible space, so that we can ensure we have enough spaces available. Please show your blue badge to our marshals on arrival so they can guide you to the designated spaces. If you have any specific accessibility needs, please contact us in advance to make suitable arrangements.
What time should I arrive?
We recommend arriving early to enjoy the daytime activities and secure a good spot for watching the helicopter display. The gates are open from 14:30 for the activities, rides, food and drink. Admission closes at 17:30 when the gates will be shut to make the site ready for the air display. The helicopter display will start at dusk at approximately 17:50. Following the display, the bonfire will be lit at approximately 18:15, after which you will be able to enjoy the fireworks display from the display line or near the bonfire.
Can I bring my dog?
Well behaved dogs are welcome at this event. Please remember that this event will be busy with large crowds and loud noises from fireworks and aircraft, which can cause distress to animals.
How do I access a discount for my ticket from last year?
If you attended last year’s event, you can use your ticket code from last year to access a 15% discount off this year’s ticket. To apply your discount, simply enter last year’s ticket code as the coupon code during checkout. You will find your ticket code on last year’s ticket email to the left of the QR code, and also at the bottom of your purchase receipt email. Both emails will have been sent from events@astondownevents.co.uk. Note that it will not be possible to claim your discount without the ticket code from last year’s ticket or receipt.
Why are tickets for cars rather than individuals?
Car tickets helps us manage parking more efficiently and reduces traffic congestion around the event site. To get the best value from your ticket, we recommend getting together with your friends/family and sharing a car to the event. We offer tickets for cars with up to 5 people, as well as tickets for larger cars with more than 5 people.
