Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

The airfield is a large open space which can often make it feel colder than expected based on the temperature outside your home. We recommend bringing an extra layer of warm clothing, plus a waterproof jacket and sturdy footwear, as the event is mostly outdoors. Don’t forget to bring gloves and a hat to stay comfortable during the evening.

Is there disabled parking?

Yes, accessible parking is available on-site for blue badge holders. We kindly ask that you contact us to let us know if you need an accessible space, so that we can ensure we have enough spaces available. Please show your blue badge to our marshals on arrival so they can guide you to the designated spaces. If you have any specific accessibility needs, please contact us in advance to make suitable arrangements.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend arriving early to enjoy the daytime activities and secure a good spot for watching the air display. You can see the approximate timings below.

What is the running order?

Please see the running order below (approximate timings):
14:30 Gates open – activities, rides, pumpkin carving, STEM Zone & concessions available
17:30 Gates close & last entry – please make sure you are here in good time!
17:50 Pyrotechnic air display
18:15 Bonfire lighting and fireworks display

Can I leave and re-enter the event?

Readmission is not possible once you leave the site. The last entry to the event is 17:30.

Are dogs or other pets welcome?

Well behaved dogs or other animals are welcome at this event. Please remember that this event will be busy with large crowds and loud noises from fireworks and aircraft, which can cause distress to animals.

Can I bring sparklers?

You are not allowed to bring your own sparklers or other fireworks to this event. This is for your safety and the safety of those around you.

Can I bring something to sit on?

You’re more than welcome to bring a camping chair, picnic blanket or similar to watch our displays. We have a very limited amount of seating available around our food and drink vendors. Please be considerate of those around you and note that we can’t allow tents/shelters to be erected on the site. Please note that camping is not available at this event.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Yes, but please note that you are not allowed to bring your own alcohol to the event due to licencing restrictions. Our range of vendors includes lots of options for food and drink, including full service bars. The majority of our vendors accept card payments with some also accepting cash. Please don’t bring any glassware onto the airfield.

Why are tickets for cars?

Car tickets helps us manage parking more efficiently and reduces traffic congestion around the event site. To get the best value from your ticket, we recommend getting together with your friends/family and sharing a car to the event – the more the merrier! We offer tickets for cars with up to 5 people, as well as tickets for larger cars with more than 5 people.

Can I take photos or videos?

We’d absolutely love you to take as many photos and videos as you can, and please share them with us on social media! Please note that drones are strictly prohibited anywhere on the airfield, for the safety of the crowds and our air display.

What happens if it rains?

The majority of our event can go ahead no matter the weather. This includes the fireworks, bonfire, STEM Zone activities, funfair, vendors, pumpkin carving and more. As you can imagine, the air display element of the event is subject to the weather being safe for flying and we continue to monitor this in the run up to, and during the event.

I’m a vendor who would like to come to your event, where can I find more information?

We are always excited to work with new vendors. For information and to submit an enquiry, please visit our vendor information page.
